“I am passionate about improving urban ecology – incorporating native plants and natural elements into landscapes and increasing sense of place.”

Alyssa was previously a project manager for Evergreen,
a non-profit organization focused on bringing nature back to urban environments. She designed and ran programs aimed at restoring habitat in urban areas and connecting people to nature through hands-on projects and educational outreach. She worked with schools, municipalities, community groups, and government offices and was involved in plans for planting, residential design, and interpretive signage.
Alyssa plays accordion with a Balkan brass band, grows veggies at her local community garden, and runs trails on the North Shore. She dreams of one day doing the Knee Knacker Race from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove.
