Jonathan Losee, BCSLA, Principal

In addition to maintaining his professional affiliations, Jon has brought vitality to his practice by participating on civic and urban design panels; teaching post-secondary courses in landscape design, architecture, and construction; and publishing and presenting materials on creating and reclaiming urban parks.

Education
1975 B.Sc. Landscape Architecture, Washington State University
1972 Recreation Area Management, Montana State University

Background
The story of Jon's life sounds apocryphal something about growing up in a log cabin in a little town in Montana. "We lived in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by wide open spaces; and by rivers, trees and mountains; and by that beautiful big sky." With an old bike and a fishing pole, Jon spent his free time immersed in nature and wildlife.

Interests
Jon loves to travel, and he and his wife Cathy have visited Mayan ruins in Central America, swam coral reefs in Belize, and picnicked in hill-towns in France and Spain. He also loves music:

"My Scotch-Irish dad always loved the bagpipes and Scottish songs. He attended a bagpipe school one summer and picked up a set of pipes for me. We spent the next four years in sessions and practice. We had a ball. Later, I played with a band, and I still play today."
