Kristina Zalite, BCSLA Intern

Kristina is currently completing a certificate in Ecological Restoration through the University of Victoria comparing the design processes of ecological restoration and landscape architecture.

Background
Kristina's experience in landscape architecture started in 1996, and began with an environmental stewardship project for the Environmental Youth Alliance. She has managed a garden-business start-up group for the Living Wall Garden Project under the mentorship of the NGO FarmFolk / CityFolk and worked as a project coordinator for Better Environmentally Sound Transportation.

In addition, Kristina has also interned in landscape architecture with the Regional District of Central Okanagan, the Parks Department of the Territory of Nunavut and, most recently, has conducted design charrettes for Zeidler Partnership Architects. While in Nunavut she produced a Master's Thesis on public involvement in park development.

Interests
Kristina enjoys travelling the globe, as well as illustrating, dancing, singing, and drumming with a Balkan band.
